Mama Shelter Rooftop Wedding
Some couples contact us when they want to plan a wedding a year out and just need help with the coordination. Some couples contact us a year + out and they need help with design + coordination.... and then some couples reach out when there wedding is in 6 months and they need help with EVERYTHING - venue, design, details, coordination, the whole shabang. And when said couples put their entire trust in us and what we do.... pure magic happens. This is a little how the story of Logan & Jordan started and we couldn't be more happy with the result! Be sure to scroll all the way through to see all the glorious details and the dream team that pulled it off. And if you're dying to see more - head on over to the Green Wedding Shoes feature!Logan and Jordan had one major request when it came to finding the perfect venue for their June wedding - that it be on a rooftop overlooking Los Angeles. You see, Logan proposed to Jordan atop their very own rooftop when they purchased their first home together (can we get a collective "awwwww"?) so it had significant meaning to their relationship and their overall love story. So we hit the ground running and when we found Mama Shelter - the rest of the design details fell right into place!
Check out Jordan's incredible advice to bride's who are in the thick of planning:
"I feel like the hardest part is finding the right venue – if you choose right, the rest just falls into place. Just find somewhere that feels comfortable, that feels ‘you guys’ - and that doesn’t necessarily mean expensive either. Some of the best weddings have been in beautiful outdoor spaces that the couple have imbued with their own particular style. I think your guests will enjoy the originality and specificity of your choice – and that just because other folks do their wedding one way, doesn’t mean you have to follow their rules.
Also, don’t be deterred by wedding dress shopping. I was turned away from multiple ‘proper’ wedding dress retailers because my wedding was only 4 months out – but there are so many beautiful white dresses out there without having to cram your body into some ridiculous sample size that only makes you squirm and itch – and then try to ‘imagine’ what it looks like when it does fit. That all just seemed crazy to me for those prices. I say buy retail, and then alter it to fit. Mine was only $260!
The thing that kept me sane through the planning phase – and we went quick, 6 months from start to finish – is to remember there is no version of your wedding being anything but awesome. It may rain, grandma may say something off-color, you may spill wine on your dress, but no matter what, you are pledging your love to the most important person in your life, surrounded by those who love you the most, so there’s no version of it being ‘wrong’ - and whatever hijinks you encounter will just be amazing stories for future dinner parties. Planning a wedding is great preparation for all the unpredictable challenges one encounters in a marriage and in life – that’s why it’s a rite of passage! And besides, perfection is overrated!"
