Sally & Brian's Celebration of Love

Where do I even start with this incredible couple?! First off, these two hired us BEFORE covid and had the foresight to postpone a whole year right from the get go. Sally is a doctor… so she clearly saw the writing on the wall before my naive little heart did. But even still, we ended up pushing and pushing until finally these two decided to pull the trigger in 2022. They actually ended up doing a very small wedding ceremony the year prior just with immediately family because (hellloooo two years is a long time to wait) So even though we had everything designed (including the invitations) we held off and decided to just throw an epic party/celebrating in honor of their love this summer and it was PERFECT.

We opted for a cocktail party style flow to the event with gorgeous food stations from Bite Catering for people to graze about and explore the beautiful property of Ruby Street (which is no longer with us, sadly) We incorporated lawn games in the back, picnic style tables for people to stop for a bite, and live music on the patio. As we said, Sally is a Doctor so we found a giant operation game for guests to play! And Brian is a music teacher so we had the coolest live musicians performing jazz as guests mingled about.

One of my favorite details of the day is how we incorporated their STUNNING original wedding invitations into the table display. Sally and Brian painstakingly custom designed an array of blue invitations through Minted for their original (first postponed) wedding date and then after the second postponement we didn’t know what to do with them…. until an idea struck! We used them as “runners” underneath the floral garlands on the picnic tables as a way to tie in Sally’s favorite blues and to also give everyone a laugh since they never got these in the mail. It was a hit and it actually turned out beautifully. Not an invitation was wasted at the end of the day ;-)
